About Delivery

How are meals delivered?

Volunteers pick meals up at Waite Park Wesleyan Church or Holmes Park Village Apartments and bring them to you in insulated containers. Meals are delivered 11:30 to 1:00 Monday through Friday.

When we close for a holiday, we send a frozen meal earlier in the week. They are meant to be kept and heated up on the day we are closed.

We are closed for New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

What if I am not home when they come?

Meals must be eaten within an hour of our drop off or immediately refrigerated. If you let us know you won’t be there due to a planned appointment, and we have access to a building refrigerator or cooler, we can leave meals for you.

If you aren’t home and haven’t checked in with us, the meal will be returned to the office. From there, we will contact a friend or family member to check and make sure you’re OK.

Can you help me open the packages?

Our volunteers can carry things inside and put them where you would like them. They can open any part of the meal as well as help you gather your utensils, as needed. Sometimes folks aren’t ready to eat and prefer things be placed in the fridge or freezer. Our volunteers are happy to lift, move, and open anything needed, including the trays and milk cartons.

Is the packaging recyclable?

The trays our entrees are packaged in are compostable aside from the plastic film, which you must throw away. The brown paper bags that arrive with the cold portion of the meal are recyclable, as are our milk cartons, juice cartons, and fruit cups.
