Eastside Meals on Wheels (EMOW) operates almost entirely with volunteers.
As an independent non-profit organization EMOW requires individuals with numerous specialized talents and, of course, drivers to deliver meals five days a week. We do not believe in frequent/lengthy meetings; we feel everyone is more productive working independently or in teams – using online resources. Read more about how you can help below. PROGRAM AND BOARD OPPORTUNITIES
We are always looking for talented, enthusiastic individuals to help with:
- Event planning
- Website development
- Graphic design
- Public speaking
- Grant writing
- Legal assistance
Board members are selected from volunteers who are committed to EMOW and want to go the next step in serving our community.
MEAL DELIVERY VOLUNTEERS
Meals are prepared every week day by a catering company and brought to our office at Waite Park Church near the corner of Johnson and 33rd St in Northeast Minneapolis. Volunteers pick up eight to ten meals labeled and packaged for their route at 11:15. A typical delivery route can be completed in about forty-five minutes.
- Be able to carry meal containers
- Climb stairs
- Have a Minnesota drivers license
- Have an automobile in good condition
- and Auto insurance
