Early in the pandemic the number of older adults seeking our services spiked, and our numbers have continued to climb steadily ever since. We are now serving 75% more clients than we were two years ago!
Help us serve the growing number of vulnerable older adults. Delivering meals keeps our older neighbors healthier and out of long-term health facilities.
The pick-up time is 11:15 a.m. at Waite Park Wesleyan Church, 1510-33rd Avenue NE, Minneapolis 55418. Our delivery area includes Northeast Minneapolis, Southeast Minneapolis, and St. Anthony Village. Each route includes approximately 10 stops and takes up to an hour. We can be flexible to accommodate your schedule.
Be able to carry meal containers and climb stairs
Have a Minnesota driver’s license
Have a car in good condition and car insurance
Currently, our volunteer drivers are required to wear masks. We are leaving meals on doorsteps and backing up six feet during handoffs to keep our clients safe.
Our enthusiastic volunteers help older adults and individuals with disabilities remain in their own homes. Even the short contact of delivering a meal creates a real, life enriching connection. A friendly greeting once a day can be a lifesaver for some people.
